Meet the Team

Jaymee's journey as a mother and midwife reflects her deep commitment to empowering families through pregnancy and birth. With 23 years of marriage and six children, she has a wealth of personal and professional experience that shapes her approach to midwifery. Her personal birth experiences—from unmedicated births and water births to cesarean sections—have enriched her understanding of the many paths women can take during childbirth. Jaymee firmly believes that pregnancy and birth are normal life events, integral to the spiritual, physical, and emotional journey of women and their families. Her dedication to creating an informed, respectful, and supportive environment helps families achieve their desired childbirth experiences, fostering a sense of safety and empowerment throughout the process.

After the birth of her third child, Jaymee pursued her passion for midwifery, completing her training through the Association of Texas Midwives in 2010. Her hands on training included a 3 year apprenticeship at a high volume birth center. In 2013, Jaymee ventured out on her own to begin a home birth practice: In Bloom Midwifery. This allowed her to pursue her love of midwifery in a smaller volume, while still being present for her family. Over the past 17 years, she has continued to dedicate herself to the art and ministry of midwifery.

Lourdes is a dedicated patient advocate at In Bloom Midwifery, where she has been an integral part of the team since its inception in 2013. With a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and training from the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program, Lourdes brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her role.

In her work, she provides our clients with essential information and support. As a key point of contact for clients, Lourdes ensures that they receive timely and compassionate support. She is always ready to address their questions and concerns, especially when our midwives are busy in clinic or at births. While she primarily works remotely, she occasionally enjoys clinic days and attending births, further enriching her connection with the families we serve.

Staying up to date with the latest research is a large part of her role. She is passionate about sharing this knowledge with her colleagues to enhance client care.
Lourdes has been a birth worker since 2006, beginning her journey as a doula and actively engaging with the natural parenting community in the Houston area. She co-founded Houston Natural Parenting Events, which was a non-profit organization (2012 - 2016) that was dedicated to educating families about cloth diapering and breastfeeding.

Residing in San Antonio, TX, Lourdes shares her life with her partner, Daniel, and their blended family. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new dining experiences, curled up with a good book, or in her family’s newfound hobby of off-roading in their ATV.

She is dedicated to empowering families through informed choices and supportive care.

Kellie, our Student Midwife, is a proud native Texan. She is passionately committed to supporting families in their unique parenting journeys. Since 2003, when her first daughter was born, Kellie has embraced a path of natural parenting that has shaped her family life and professional aspirations.

As a mother of four, Kellie balances her role as a parent with her studies, sharing this journey with her best friend and life partner, Randy. Her interest in holistic medicine sparked a quest for better pregnancy and birth options, leading her to pursue midwifery after the birth of her third child.

Outside of her midwifery studies, Kellie loves to unwind by reading books by the lake, attending music festivals, and indulging in chips and queso at her favorite Mexican restaurants. An animal lover at heart, she shares her home with a variety of furry friends, creating what she affectionately calls her “zoo.”

Kellie’s approach is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and a deep respect for the birthing process. She is excited to help families create positive, meaningful experiences as they welcome new life into the world.

April has been married for 12 years and is a proud mother of three beautiful children. Her journey into birth work began in 2014 after the birth of her first child, when she felt a deep calling to serve families during one of life’s most transformative experiences. That inspiration led her to train as a doula, and she attended her first birth in 2016. Today, April continues to follow her passion as a student midwife, growing her knowledge and skills to provide even deeper support to families.

Through her work as a doula, childbirth educator, and birth assistant, April has had the privilege of witnessing the incredible strength and resilience of women, as well as the profound benefits of non-judgmental support and education during pregnancy and birth. These experiences have fueled her passion for midwifery, where she aims to provide holistic, compassionate care that empowers pregnant people to make informed choices about their birth experiences.

The gentle and empowering support she received from her own midwives during her births ignited a desire to offer that same care to others. One of her favorite aspects of midwifery is the deeply personal nature of the care, where each family is an active participant in their birth journey, fully informed and involved in the decisions regarding their care.

Before becoming a mother, April was a public school teacher and a passionate researcher, always eager to learn. She continues that love of learning as she studies midwifery while homeschooling her children. April holds a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science with a minor in Business Administration.
Her diverse background and experiences have shaped her approach to midwifery; one rooted in education, empathy, and respect for each family's unique journey.
