Insurance & Fees
Every woman deserves the most optimal birth experience possible. Good news is that most private insurances will reimburse/cover home birth services. I work with a billing/coder who will make sure we have what you need in order to file a successful claim. Contact your insurance carrier directly for your benefit coverage. We encourage you to begin this process right away, in order to get your OON exception or GAP coverage approved. At this time, Texas Medicaid does not cover homebirth midwifery services but we do offer a discount to eligible clientele. Midwifery services may also be traded in exchange for goods/services on a case by case basis.
Following the payment of your deposit for midwifery, the balance of the account is divided into equal monthly payments. The number of payments will be based on the remaining number of months in the pregnancy. This balance is to be paid by 35 weeks.
Jaymee Boughton, CPM, LM accepts the following forms of payment:
- Personal Checks
- Credit Cards
- Debit Cards
- Flexible Spending Account
- Medical Savings Account
- Bartering in Exchange for Midwifery Services
Medical Savings Account and Flexible Spending Account balances are usually fronted to the employee at the first of the year and accessible to pay the midwife’s fee at the beginning of pregnancy.
***All Credit/Debit/PayPal transactions, along with Flexible Spending/Medical Savings Accounts, require an additional 2.9% charge in addition to my global fee due to associated costs.
